Hello Parents and Happy Labor Day Weekend
If you want to get your 7th grader talking Texas with you, ask them about land features. They should be able to tell you all about the Edwards Aquifer and the Balcones Escarpment, after our week of study on Texas land features.

#deadlaptops #chargingcables
We had a significant number of students this week that struggled to do their Canvas assignment on Thursday because their laptops were not charged. Lots of missing charging cables! Please check with your 7th grader and make sure they have a charging cable compatible with their school issued Chromebook. If they need a replacement cable, you can order one for $10 using this link and it will be delivered to them at school when it arrives.
You may notice on the Amazon Wishlist above that we are hoping to get a special table and extra charging cables for each of our Texas History classrooms to serve as a "charging station". Kids often need to fortify their batteries for a few minutes as the day wears on.
#skyward #checkthosegrades
We have started putting grades in Skyward. Ms. Oricchio and Mr. Young both recommend that parents check Skyward 1-2 times a week. Remember minor grades average 40% of your child's grade and major grades average 60% per district policy.

If you are able to throw in an extra box for your kiddo's TX History class in your grocery cart this weekend, much appreciated! We're asking parents to send in one box so we can get through our first runny nose season and stockpile for the year.
Major grades, so far..
✅Last Friday's govt/citizenship quiz. Students had the opportunity to take this multiple times for the highest graded
✅"Texas Land Features" (This was the Canvas lesson this week in two parts.. it will likely get posted by early next week, if you don't see it yet.)
